Moon Child

I dreamt myself dying
body of blue lapis & blood
I reach, baby—I reach in gut
reel in blue lotus & butterfly pea
spill through euphoretic streams
I am primordial
I am of the wildest self
an emulsion of milk & clay
abomination—love
a slip of my residual
hands in the famish—
so hot a lust I taste the salt
so cold a wave comes
Fisher Man, impart:
can you love a bloated body
that eats the suns of day
rouses the hounds of night
& swallows your brothers
at sea
