Reasons for Insomnia
Brennan Emmett Cox currently lives and works in Baltimore, Maryland. In his paintings, he plays with absurd mythmaking, combining source material from a variety of literature, films, and pop culture references in order to tell a new, oftentimes nonsensical, story. He’s completed residencies at the Atelier of Tomaz Hipolito in Lisbon, Portugal, as well as Studio Nomada in Barcelona, Spain. He’s displayed work largely in the DMV as well as Barcelona. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he studied both English Literature and Painting.
Reilly D. Cox is a MFA candidate at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where they serve as Design Editor for Black Warrior Review. They attended Washington College and the Bucknell Seminar for Younger Poets. They have work available or forthcoming by the Academy of American Poets, Always Crashing, Cosmonauts Avenue, Rust + Moth, and elsewhere.
