Jaime Ekkens is an animator, director, and producer whose independent short films have screened all over the world. She has been a freelance Motion Graphics Artist for some of the biggest names in New York media and television including Refinery 29, Yahoo!, Hearst, CBS News, Nickelodeon, A&E Networks and ABC News. Her first independent short film “A Life with Asperger’s” went on to a 2 year run of over 80 international film festival, toured the country with both Reel Abilities Film Festival and Sprout Film Festival, where it currently enjoys distribution. Her second short, “Suffering is the Easy Part”, a film about surviving trauma and sexual assault, won a hand full of awards, was chosen for online streaming with Seed and Spark and enjoys educational distribution with DocAcedemia. The film stills featured in this publication are from her autobiographical film “The Complete Circle” which was shot in Korea and Brooklyn. Prints of the stills were also featured in the group exhibition with Anderson Contemporary Gallery with Animation Nights New York’s yearly celebration Best of Fest which took place in Manhattan 2016.
